Hello,

I've been thinking that in order to bolster the development and
acceptance of Ur/Web, it might be a suitable time to try to come up with
a "killer app" that will demonstrate the real-world applicability of
Ur/Web.  Given that there are a number of people on this list who are
now doing Ur/Web development, it seemed sensible to try to recruit a
number of people who would be interested in contributing to such an effort.

My vision was to create something that could be launched as a real
public-facing service.  It should be relatively ambitious, I think.  It
should be our goal to build the "largest" Ur/Web application to date,
such that we can perhaps identify some known boundaries within which
Ur/Web can be shown to be applicable.  It's not entirely clear to me
what an appropriate demonstration might be at this stage, however, here
are a few thoughts (in no particular order, and without any close
consideration given to merit):

 * A Facebook application
 * A Twitter clone (leveraging Ur/Web's FRP model to do real-time stuff)
 * Web chat (a la Omegle)
 * A Wiki system
 * ... something else?

Suggestions are obviously welcome.  Primarily at this stage I think it
would be very helpful for interested parties to get together on IRC or
within some kind of collaborative setting (a GitHub project, perhaps)
and start thinking about what we would like to develop, what this will
require, and who is going to do what.  Adam has at this stage agreed to
support such a project in some kind of consultant role, at least.

For the moment, if you are interested, please reply on-list with any
ideas/comments/criticisms.
