[Ur] Anyone able to help performance-debug urweb-mode?

The Ur/Web Emacs mode that I "wrote" exhibits very poor performance in 
syntax highlighting.  I put "wrote" in quotes because almost all of the 
code is lifted from sml-mode; I know very little about Emacs 
programming, so it isn't at all surprising that I've made a big 
performance mistake somewhere.

Is there anyone out there with Emacs expertise who might be able to find 
and fix the problem?  I know I would be very grateful!

(There are also some weird correctness issues with auto-indentation that 
I would love to have fixes for.)
